Review

Matarangi is small town just off the coast of the coromandel, around a 3 hour drive from auckland. It is mainly a holiday place for families but there are also some permanent residents that live there aswell.
Matarangi is a beautiful place to go in the summer, as it has a long sandy white beach. It has a little dairy, a cafe and a small shop for your everyday needs. Down the far end, there is a resturant and bar which is nice if you wanted to go out for a dinner celebration or just for a meal. Alot of men go down there to watch the rugby games and to have a few beers. Right next to the resturant is a golf course that many people use. Abit further down there is a wharf, where you can take your boat and go fishing for the day. Sometimes families will go there and just have a picnic and the kids will jump off the wharf or just play in the water.

You can go for a walk right down to the end of the beach and go through the hundred acre woods, (which is what my little cousins call it beacause there are so many old trees), and you come out at the bay. Which is just a large area of shallow clear blue water, which is lovely to swim in! If you have young children that dont like walking long distances, you can walk to the opposite side of the beach, where there are some rock pools that you can explore. There's usually starfish., crabs, hermit crabs, sometimes even jellyfish. A couple of times there have been some dead sharks washed up on the beach too. If your lucky enough, you might be able to see some dolphins early in the morning.
